More than 350 species of birds have been identified in the area around Villa Paraiso.  

Bird watching tours are hosted daily by expert guides at Hacienda Baru, only 2 miles away.  Two differnt tours are given each day:  the lowlands bird watching hike and the rainforest bird watching hike.  You will see Toucans, many different species of Parrots including the Blue and Gold Macaw.  In addtion, monkeys, sloths, colorful frogs, and all manner of insects abound.
